"I am my lover’s, and he claims me as his own. Come, my love, let us go out to the fields and spend the night among the wildflowers.
Let us get up early and go to the vineyards to see if the grapevines have budded, if the blossoms have opened, and if the pomegranates have bloomed.
There I will give you my love."
My sweet husband had reservations for a nice Valentine's Day dinner for us to enjoy—even though he's convinced the "lovers holiday" is a marketing scheme created by candy companies.
He made the reservation because he knew it would make me happy. And that is one of the many reasons I love that man with all my heart. He cares about what makes me smile.
However, as the day wore on I started to think about what would make my husband happy today. The answer–a quiet dinner at home, a movie, and maybe a little bit of Ferrero Roche (his favorite chocolate).
He brought me M & M's. Great minds, I tell ya.
We did think about dinner out on the town. In fact, we got in the car. But the sky was gray, the roads were getting slippery from a freezing drizzle, and crazy drivers were drifting into our lane. It didn't take long for us to come to a decision.
Pizza. Chocolate. Movie.
Perfect!
