Pure Flix is a Christian movie production company which strives to provide excellent, entertaining films with a positive, Christ-centered message.
I've had the pleasure of watching (and reviewing) several Pure Flix films including What If?, as well as Apostle Peter and the Last Supper (both which I recommend along with Jerusalem Countdown and Escape). But today I want to encourage you to watch, buy, rent (whatever) two films: The Encounter and The Encounter: Paradise Lost
Both are based on a similar premise:
A group of people are brought together by unusual circumstances where they are met by a man who has the answer to what they need (whether they realize it or not). The man (played with understated grace in both films by Bruce Marchiano) is JESUS.
These films have talented casts including Steve ("Sting") Borden and Jaci Velasquez in The Encounter, along with David A. R. White (who directed The Encounter and starred in The Encounter: Paradise Lost). The stories are engaging, emotion filled (without being cheesy), entertaining, and (in the case of The Encounter: Paradise Lost) action filled, and (some how) believable.
I enjoyed these movies and highly recommend both.
As I watched The Encounter and The Encounter: Paradise Lost, I found myself thinking if Jesus were to step into my life or someone I know (physically/visibly) right now, these stories by Pure Flix imagines the experience as I might. This quality of storytelling is what makes both films effective. More importantly, The Encounter and The Encounter: Paradise Lost remind the viewer of the hope which is only found when we repent and believe in Jesus.
So, if you want unique (funny, interesting, life-changing) movies with Christ-centered themes, take a look at the offerings from Pure Flix. Not only will you be entertained and encouraged, but have an excellent resource to share the gospel with those within your sphere of influence.
