Something to Celebrate

Something to Celebrate

He said it a few weeks ago.

But is has been on my mind ever since.

I don’t even remember what we were discussing. It is what came after the discussion which matters to me.

882482_10151329957567201_145786518_oThom said, “We have now been back together longer than we were separated. A lot longer. That’s really cool.”

And he smiled.

I love that man so much.

And Thom is right.

It is really cool. So very, very cool!

How awesome is God? Really! How amazing is the God we serve that after nearly FIVE YEARS of separation, my husband and I found our way back to each other? A year after that, my relationship with GOD found restoration! And then Thom and I finally came to understand the true meaning of covenant marriage.

How sweet to be able to say I love my husband more today than all the previous years combined. How wonderful to know Thom feels the same about me. How blessed I am to trust all of our tomorrows to God.

Yesterday, I had the privilege of watching a preview for Focus on the Family’s new documentary called IRREPLACEABLE. A documentary which examines the question “What is Family?” in a powerful and poignant manner.

IRREPLACEABLE will be playing in select theaters on MAY 6 for a special one night presentation. I HIGHLY recommend you go, view, and support IRREPLACEABLE. Check to see if the film is playing in your area or how you can bring it to your town. Take your wife, husband, pastor, church, bible study group, youth group, women’s and men’s groups, marrieds, singles.

Everyone should see this film because marriage-parenthood-children-family are important.

There are many concerns which this film addresses in regard to our culture’s view on these topics, but one of the most hopeful parts is an interview with Nicky and Sila Lee, the founders of The Marriage Course. In a nutshell, they suggest if two people are willing to work at their relationship and are given the tools with which to do so, a husband and wife can have a strong and successful marriage.

Thom and I know this is true because it has been proven in our own relationship.

Which brings me back to my original thought. God has blessed me with a wonderful, sensitive, gifted Christian man for a husband. I am so thankful for Thom every day. And our new milestone–EIGHT YEARS TOGETHER AGAIN–is most definitely something to celebrate.

What would you like to celebrate in your relationship(s) today?

Marriage? Children? Family? Friendships?

Who are you thanking God for today?
